It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Scottie" Eugene Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on September 29, 2025, at the age of 78.
Robert was born on November 2, 1946, in Macomb, Illinois, to Donald Scott and Juanita Phelps Scott. His journey began in small-town Illinois, where he graduated from Galesburg High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 9, 1965 and soon after married the love of his life, Pamela Jones.
He attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, California, where he mastered Russian, German, and Czech. The Air Force stationed him in Hahn, Germany, where he bravely flew spy missions. After two decades of dedicated service, he retired as a Master Sergeant on June 30, 1985, and made his home in San Antonio, Texas.
After retiring from the Air Force, Robert dedicated himself to education, sharing his passion for learning with students at Church on the Rock School, Rockwall Christian Academy, Greenville Middle School, and Thomas Edison Middle School. He continued as a teacher until 2010 when he chose to devote his time to caring for his wife, Pamela, who passed in 2015. Robert was not only an educator but also a devout Christian, serving as a Deacon at Gateway Baptist Church in San Antonio.
Robert is survived by daughter, Dani Fuller and her husband Dan; son, Mykle Scott and his wife Hope; grandchildren, Savannah Gibson, Grayson and Ethan Scott; sister, Donna Reno and her husband Dr. Dick Reno; sister, Dorothy Scott; and brother, Glenn Scott and his wife Judy.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a unique ability to brighten a room with his famous one-liners. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
