STEPHENSON, Roger W. 57, of Mesquite, TX, and formerly of Jacksonville, IL. died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in Illinois. He was born November 10, 1946 in Illinois, the son of Ray and Kathryn Baker Stephenson. He married Veronica Binkley on September 29, 1978 in Jacksonville. A dedicated family man, Roger is survived by his wife, Veronica Stephenson of Mesquite; his children and their families, Jackie and John Foster of Sachse, TX., Ketra and Rob Hancock of Mesquite, and Tim Stephenson of Dallas. He was an enthusiastic grandpa to Kori and Kirstin Hancock and Brendan and Bailey Foster.He is also survived by his parents, Ray and Kathryn Stephenson of Jacksonville, Illinois; his sisters and families, Barbara and L. T. Skinnell of Bedford, VA. and Carol Stephenson of Mesquite.He leaves two God-daughters, Spring Ragland of Mesquite and Rebecca Jordan of Plano, TX. as well as a wide circle of close friends and relatives. Roger was loved by all who knew him.He will be greatly missed.Roger attended Pittsfield High School and lived and worked in Jacksonville for several years before moving to Texas.He was a member of Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite and a Vocational Arts teacher at Duncanville High School.Accomplished in all phases of building and construction, Roger was generous with his time and talents in helping others.He enjoyed his activities in the Cushman Scooter Club, riding a vintage cycle. Visitation will be 6:00PM-8:00PM on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite.
