Ronald "Ron" Miller, 38, passed away on February 21, 2026. Born on April 1, 1987, in Lubbock, Texas, to Kerry Miller and Lisa Malone, Ron lived a life marked by service, brilliance, humor, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
Ron began his lifelong commitment to service at just 17 years old when he joined the United States Army. Over the course of eleven distinguished years, he served with honor and dedication, beginning his career as an Airborne qualified Infantryman and concluding as an Adjunct Professor of Military Science at Texas Tech University. The Army shaped his discipline and leadership, but it also revealed his extraordinary ability to think creatively and strategically.
Recognizing that those gifts could serve others in a new way, Ron pursued a career in law. He graduated second in his class from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served as Editor and later Executive of the Business and Bankruptcy Law Journal and competed on five national advocacy teams. He later earned a Master of Laws in Litigation Management from Baylor University School of Law.
Ron built an impressive litigation career and, prior to co-founding Campbell Miller Payne, PLLC, practiced with some of the world's most elite law firms. His work included complex product liability cases, commercial litigation, and financial institution matters. He was admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Fifth Circuits. Ron was respected not only for his mastery of discovery, motions, trial, and appeals, but also for his integrity and relentless pursuit of excellence.
While his professional accomplishments were significant, Ron's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Miller, and their four cherished children: Hadlee, Grant, Grayson, and Noah Miller. He is also survived by his father, Kerry Miller; his mother, Lisa Malone; his stepmother, Karen Miller; and his siblings, Chase Miller, Chandley King, Tiffany Wehmeirer, and Haley Malone.
Ron was often the funniest person in the room. His sharp wit and perfectly timed humor could light up any space. He loved Star Wars, quoting The Office at just the right moment, and diving into anything science-related. He was annoyingly good at whatever he set his mind to-whether mastering a courtroom, coaching a sports team, or building beautiful furniture by hand. Woodworking became one of his favorite passions, and he lovingly crafted many pieces over the years for his children-treasures that will forever carry his touch.
Ron and his family shared a love of adventure, traveling in their motorhome to national parks across the country. When not exploring the outdoors, he could be found on the sidelines coaching his kids' teams, cheering loudly, and making sure everyone was having fun.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of courage, brilliance, laughter, and deep, steady love. Though his absence is immeasurable, so is the impact he made.
Funeral services will be held at Community Life Church in Sunnyvale, Texas, on Friday, February 27, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to C-Life Church reflecting Ron's commitment to serving Christ and others or to the UTSW Neuro-Oncology Clinic in honor of Ron. We are grateful for your prayers, love, and support during this time, trusting in God's promise that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)
