Ronnie Lee Delz joined the Lord on November 11, 2021 after a hard fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Bertha Delz, and is survived by his wife of 42 years, Melea Delz, his children Theresa Gray and her husband Lance, Christian Parkess and his wife Holly, Angela Jacobus and her husband John, Sean Delz and his wife Alyssa, and Michaela Delz. He was a grandpa to five grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyler, Michaela, Harper, and Sloane, and loved by many friends who felt like family.
Ronnie was born in October 1946 in Texon, Texas to Frankie and Bertha, and was a spitfire from the start. His childhood was filled with cousins that were like siblings and a lot of mischief. Ronnie liked to tell people he studied 8 ball and redbirds in college, which we are sure he did, before he ended up in DFW where he started his life here.
Ronnie was an avid hunter for many years as well as competed on shooting teams, and if he wasn’t hunting or at a competition he was watching sports with family. He was a joker, always ready to insert one when needed and especially when not, and you could guarantee that it would be followed by his infamous Ronnie smile.
He will be incredibly missed by family and friends, and we all look forward to seeing him again one day.
A celebration of life for Ronnie will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM, with a visitation preceding from 9:00-10:00 AM, and all are welcome to come celebrate how wonderful this man was.
