Listen to Obituary

Ronnie Joe Vineyard, a kindhearted, gentle man with an amazing sense of humor, passed away on October 31, 2025, after a life rich in love, service, and devotion to his family. Born on March 24, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, Ronnie exemplified what it meant to be a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, friend, and civil servant.

For 46 years, Ronnie shared a profound and loving partnership with his wife, Nancy Catherine Vineyard. They were married on November 6, 1959, in Rockwall, Texas - a beautiful union that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

As a devoted father, Ronnie took immense pride in his three children, who will carry on his legacy: David Vineyard and wife Joni, Pam Schrodt and husband David, and Amy Bosco and husband Phil. He would often brag about his children and their accomplishments to anyone who would listen. Ronnie has been their "HERO" throughout their lives.

Ronnie was the proud "Papaw" to a cherished group of loving grandchildren: Brian Falco and his wife Robin, Brianna Rincon and husband Vincent, Savannah Bosco, Caleb Stewart, and Jacob Webster. He also had several great-grandchildren: Tex Falco, Nancy Jo Falco, Saxon Rincon, Sawyer Rincon, and Slayton Rincon who he doted on every chance he could.

A Life of Dedication

Ronnie honorably served as a Dallas Police Officer for 34 years. During that time, he served as patrolman, corporal, and a field training officer at the Dallas Police Academy where he made a lasting impact on many classes of new recruits. Of course, he could only stay retired for one year and took a Security Officer position at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie where he worked for another 17 years.

Passions and Legacy

Ronnie was a man who truly loved doing things for others, a testament to his kind heart. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved watching Hallmark movies with his long-time friend and companion Ellen Hayes, and kept up with world events watching Fox News. But most of all he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family - attending school events, graduations, soccer games, dance recitals in support of Nancy and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He remained close with many friends and former colleagues throughout his life.

Ronnie is survived by his children, David, Pam, and Amy; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, BJ Vineyard, Jr., Alta Osborne, and Barbara LaRue. He also has five surviving brothers-in-law: Floyd, Alan, Jerry, Dan, and Bill Stober. He was preceded in death by his parents, BJ and Jewell Vineyard; his siblings, Robert Vineyard, Alice Montgomery, and Pat McQuistion; his parents-in-law, Gene and Doris Stober; his niece, Lana Couch; and his brother-in-law, John Stober.

Ronnie Joe Vineyard leaves behind a powerful legacy of kindness, generosity, selflessness, hard work, and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
