ARLINGTON -- Russell "Rusty" Rogers, 48, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at an Arlington hospital. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 6102 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Pulmonary Clinic Research Fund #51559, c/o Baylor Healthcare System Foundation, 3600 Gaston Avenue, Suite 100, Dallas, Texas 75246. Mr. Rogers was born Nov. 13, 1954, in Oklahoma City. He was a 1972 graduate of Northwest Classen High School, Oklahoma City, and attended both OSU and OU. Absolutely bursting with life, Rusty was a person who took the Will Rogers saying "I never met a man I didn't like" to heart. He gave friendship and love freely, receiving the same from everyone who came in contact with him. Rusty's passions were his son, golf, OU football and the Dallas Stars. He was employed at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, at the time of his final illness. Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Ferrill H. Rogers, and his stepfather, Meade W. Graham. Survivors: Wife, Christine of Arlington; his 13 year-old son, Ryan Russell of Mesquite; stepson, John McElreath and wife, Jennifer, of Arlington; mother, Cory Graham of Edmond, Okla.; mother-in-law, Bette Copeland, of Arlington; sisters, Jacki Carllson and husband, Richard, of Edmond, and Judy King and husband, Don, of The Colony; stepbrother, Griff Graham and wife, Lisa, of Plano; sister-in-law, Sarajo Pittman and husband, Rob, of Arlington; brother-in-law, Everett Copeland and wife, Jan, of Spring; and other relatives and friends.
