Sharron Mary McCormick

November 10, 1943 — May 13, 2022

Sharron Mary McCormick was born November 10, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas.

Her parents, Arthur Joseph McCormick and Doris Peggy McLaussen, moved to Tulsa when she was young. Later they moved to Dallas.

She graduated from St. Edward Catholic School and Woodrow Wilson HighSchool. She attended East Texas State University where she majored in art and business.

Sharron loved needlework and building miniature rooms. For over 30 years she entered quilts, Christmas ornaments, wall hangings and miniature rooms in the Arts and Crafts building at the State Fair of Texas.

Her second love was traveling. As secretary of the Texas Association of Certified Public Accountants she planned trips all over the USA. She also

traveled frequently to Europe. Before the Berlin Wall fell, she had to pass through the gate and many Russian guards to get to Russia. Her bus tour of Egypt was escorted by armed soldiers. She was traveling to places where few Americans would go.

She went by ship to Alaska, South America and the Caribbean. Cruising was her favorite way to travel in later years. She loved all the people she encountered on her journeys. Sharron was a people person.

She loved her Pekingese dogs and living in the Lakewood area of Dallas. Sharron was a fabulous gourmet cook. Her Christmas Eve parties were a treat to close friends and family. She was a good friend to many and always tried to help those in need. Sharron was very generous, helping Toys for Tots, Humane Society, various groups of nuns, and her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Peggy Maddox, father Arthur J. McCormick, Sr., brother Arthur J. McCormick, Jr., and nephew Michael J.

McCormick.

She is survived by her niece Ann McCormick, great nephew Samuel M. J. McCormick, sister-in-law Patricia McCormick, and dear friends Kirk and

Linda Thomas.

Sharron was larger than life and she will be missed by all that knew her.
