Listen to Obituary

Shelia Darlene Green, age 65, passed away on June 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and family. Born on August 20, 1959, Shelia was a light in the lives of all who knew her; a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose heart overflowed with kindness, joy, and a whole lot of fun.

Shelia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved rocking in her favorite chair, which sat just inside the front door of her home. Everyone who visited knew, or quickly learned, to watch their backside because Shelia had a playful tradition of patting guests on the behind as they entered, always followed by her infectious laughter. It was one of many ways she showed affection and brought joy to those around her. One of her sweetest and most unique habits was greeting people by kissing the tops of their hands; a gentle, loving gesture that made everyone feel special. Her kindness and affection were felt by everyone who knew her.

From a young age, Shelia had a passion for music; it was part of her soul. She always had a guitar in her hands growing up and loved strumming along to her favorite songs. Holding a guitar brought her comfort and happiness, and she was rarely seen without one nearby. She loved dancing, singing, and especially playing the guitar.

Shelia was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley and I Love Lucy, and she loved spending time at home watching television shows that her parents enjoyed too. She was happiest just being at home with her family.

Shelia was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Raymond and Margureite Green. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her loving sisters, Patricia Ann Baker and Priscilla Gail Nelson; and her extended family: Rudy Silva, Ashley and Paul Carter, Abigail Baker, Tommy Stockton, Melissa and Daniel Hurdle, Ryan Hurdle, Nathan Hurdle, Carl and Stacey Baker, Kevin Baker, David Baker, Bradley and Joyce Sanders, Brooke Sanders, Tori Sanders, Haley and Reagan Runnels; and the next generation: Kynsley, Khyler, Aubrey, Brooklyn, and Haven.

Shelia brought laughter, love, and music into every room she entered. Her legacy is one of warmth, affection, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
