Shirley Jean Browning

Mrs. Shirley Jean Browning, age 74, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday May 15, 2022, with her husband by her side.

Shirley was born in Emporia, KS to Alfred Givens and Leona Givens. Shirley married Charles Browning of Washburn, Mo on March 24, 1967 in Bentonville, Arkansas and later came to reside in Mesquite, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Givens, mother, Leona Givens, and brother, Robert Carl Givens. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Browning, whom she was married to for 55 years; three children, Robert Browning and wife Melinda; Charlotte Oliver and husband Gaylon; and Tracie Davidson and husband David; five grandchildren, Cody Echard and wife Jessica; Zachary Echard and wife Sammi; Hollie Lawson, Jesse Browning, and Shaun Browning; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Horton, Mason Echard, Ivie Echard, Oliver Echard, and Autumn Echard; three sisters and their spouses, Skip Grove and husband Larry; Mildred Hornbeck, and husband Ron; and Nancy Williams, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Public Viewing will be held Thursday, 19th of May, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Meadowview, Mesquite, TX followed by services at 12:00 PM also at First Baptist Church of Meadowview with Pastor Roy Blair officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM in Sunnyvale, Texas.
