Shirley Juanita Jones

Shirley Juanita Jones, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 at Cheyenne Medical Lodge in Sunnyvale, TX at the age of 86. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Hagensport, TX. Shirley lived a life filled with love and joy, and was known for her warm heart and generous spirit.

Shirley spent many happy years working at Frito Lay before enjoying her well-deserved retirement. Her passions extended far beyond her career; she found great joy in quilting, canning, and gardening. Family gatherings meant the world to her. She always looked forward to lively BBQ cookouts and the cherished tradition of a good old-fashioned fish fry, where laughter and stories filled the air.

Among her proudest moments was the accomplishment of building her first house in Carrollton, TX, on Terry Way. That house became a home where she raised her children, embodying the American dream and the love she had for her family. Shirley leaves behind her cherished daughter, Sheila Rosignol; son, Dwayne Sprabary; brother, George Buchanan; and sister, Savella Buchanan, who will all carry her spirit in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on May 16, 2026, at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Shirley's life and the many memories she created.

Shirley was preceded in death by: Vernon Sprabary, George (Gurdy) Buchanan, Eliza Buchanan, Michael Sprabary, Louis Sprabary, Tommy Sprabary, and Tom Buchanan.
