Sosamma Abraham

Sosamma Abraham passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 28, 2022. She was born to Itty and Aleyamma Abraham on February 27, 1943 in Kottayam, Kerala, India.

Sosama was the 3rd of 9 children, and is survived by her sisters, Annamma, Leelama, Kunjoojamma, Saramma, Sicily and Gracie.

She completed her nursing training in northern India, before coming to America. She lived in several parts of the country finally calling Texas home. She was married and widowed without any children of her own. She completed her nursing career in Mesquite, Texas.

She was God-fearing and always put the needs of those around her first, helping to bring 4 of her sisters from India to America and supporting them. She lived a long hard life filled with many trials and tribulations, but survived. She moved forward through numerous challenges strengthened by her love of God and the hope he gave her. Sosamma will join her parents, elder bother, Aachan, and infant sister Thangamma in heaven. She will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM, along with burial after the service concludes, with Rev. Fr. Abraham Thomas officiating.
