A Beautiful Life and a Godly Legacy
Thelma Louise Boles ("Mamaw") of Forney, TX, passed from this earth into the presence of her Savior on October 22, 2026 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, at the age of 96. She was born on October 1, 1930 in Wills Point, TX. She grew up in Winnsboro, TX where she met the love of her life, Edwin Boles, at church. They married on Nov. 28, 1946 and together shared 63 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, faith, and the people they loved.
Thelma's first job was at H.L. Green in downtown Dallas. She then went to work at Frito Lay where she worked for 33 years and retired in 1992. In the 33 years she worked there, she was never late a single day.
Thelma and Ed were longtime, faithful members of Wildwood Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church of Forney and attended the Believers Sunday school class. When her son, Tim, planted Last Generation Church in Mesquite, they faithfully attended and supported him.
Thelma was a truly remarkable woman. She was a godly mother who loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life as a testimony of His goodness and grace. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her love for God was reflected in the way she loved and cared for her family. She was the heart of her home, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a homemaker in every sense of the word. She had a special gift for making a house feel like home, filling it with warmth, comfort, delicious home-cooked meals, and the kind of love that made everyone feel welcome. Her cooking brought her family together, and her home became a place where precious memories were made and family bonds grew stronger.
She was a hard-working woman who faithfully cared for her family while also working to provide for their needs. She gave of herself without hesitation, always putting the people she loved first. Her strength, kindness, wisdom, and devotion made her a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
To her family, she was so much more than a mother and grandmother. She was a source of strength, a place of comfort, a guiding light, and an example of what a godly woman should be. She demonstrated that a woman's greatest legacy is not found in what she owns, but in the love she gives, the faith she lives, and the lives she touches.
At 96 years of age, she leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion that will continue through the generations of her family. Though her earthly presence will be deeply missed, the lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She was a wonderful wife, an extraordinary mother, a precious grandmother, and a beautiful woman of God. She lived a life of love, and her greatest hope was found in the Lord she faithfully served. Her earthly journey is complete, but her eternal life has just begun.
Thelma's memory will be forever cherished by her son, Timothy Mark Boles; grandchildren, Jeff Parnell & wife Erica, Tim Boles, Jr. & wife Sarah, Chase Boles & wife Tish, Terry Parnell & wife, Dianna, Paige Paperman & husband Sean; 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Boles; daughter, Rita Hendrickson; infant son, Randy Boles; grandson, Larry Parnell; daughter-in-law, Gwen Boles; parents, Russell (Daddy Mac) & Velma (Mama Mac) McBride; 2 brothers, David & Freddie McBride; 2 sisters, Juanita Spradlin & Joyce Moore; and many other cherished family members & friends who welcomed her into her eternal home.
A Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.
