Travis Leon Lloyd

Travis Leon Lloyd, 77, of Terrell, TX passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice.  He was born June 30^th, 1945, in Monticello, AR to Travis O’Fallon Lloyd and Janette Myers Lloyd.

Travis was a devoted husband, loving father and wonderful Papa to his grandchildren.  He was a proud Sergeant in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a committed member of New Life Church in Garland, TX, for 37 years where he proudly served as a board member for over two decades.  He had a strong Christian faith, charming smile and a sparkle in his eyes.  Travis was an avid outdoorsman and collector of antique woodworking tools.  His favorite moments were spent in the Presence of the Lord or with his family.

Travis loved people and people loved him.  He was a consummate storyteller and always eager to help anyone.  He was an inspiration to many – even during sickness, the medical staff constantly remarked on his charming personality and kindness.  He spent many hours on Bible Quizzing fundraisers and anything else his grandchildren loved.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Lena Mae Lloyd; and brother, Robert Lloyd.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Lloyd, of Monticello, AR.  daughters, Rhonda Smith and husband Nick of Fate, TX & Tammie Whipple and husband Brian of Parker, CO; wife, Deborah Wren Lloyd, of Terrell, TX; stepdaughters, April Thomas and husband Nathan & Amber Thomas and husband Matthew; stepson Chris McHam.

Two grandchildren, who made his world go around, Shea Smith and Trevor Smith & wife Kali.  Step grandchildren  Isabella and Isaiah Thomas; Andrew, Asher, Haven and Lucas Thomas; Gauge and Hudson McHam.  Great-grandson, Jack Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, October 18^th at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX.  Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 19th at New Life Church in Garland, TX with Reverend Shannon Stanley officiating.  Interment will be a private ceremony at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery.
