Trent Hunter

Trent La'Ron Hunter, age 36, of Forney, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2026. He was born in Terrell, Texas.

Trent is survived by his wife, Melissa Hunter; son, Trent Hunter Jr.; his step-daughter, Kendall Litke; his parents, Laney and Ronnie Hunter; his brother, Chris Dickens; and his sister, Shelby Hunter.

Trent carried a strong passion for football. He played at Katy High School and continued his athletic career as a safety at Texas A&M, where he built lifelong memories and friendships.

Trent worked as an elevator mechanic and took great pride in his craft. He loved working with his hands, solving complex problems, and wasn't afraid of hard or dirty work. His strong work ethic and determination were evident in everything he did.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, spending time with family and friends, and especially being with his son. Trent was a proud and devoted father who cherished every moment teaching, playing, and growing alongside his little boy.

Trent was known for his larger-than-life personality and the genuine love he carried in his heart. He never met a stranger and had a rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His honesty, bold spirit, and authenticity created lasting friendships and deep bonds wherever he went. He was especially known for his natural connection with children. They were drawn to him, and he embraced that role wholeheartedly serving as a role model, mentor, and friend to many.

Above all, Trent will be remembered for his love, his presence, and the impact he made on the lives of those around him.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Hwy. 80 in Sunnyvale, TX 75182. A Visitation will start at 9:00 AM and Funeral Service at 10:00 AM with burial to follow.

A reception in Trent's honor will follow the burial at: The Story venue, 410 S. Paschall Rd. in Sunnyvale, TX 75182
