Wanda L. Fox, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born June 22, 1932 in DeKalb, Texas to Oval Proctor and Winnie (Moore) Proctor.
Wanda attended Union Grove High School and graduated second in her class at the age of 16 and matriculated to Apostolic Bible Institute in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While working at Transport Holdings she shared a phone with a young man at the desk next to her by the name of J Nelson Fox. He turned out to be the love of her life and they were married on October 14, 1961 and celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last year.
Wanda was the longest tenured member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, attending for over 60 years. She also served as the Church Secretary for 24 years before retiring in 2008. She was an example to all who knew her of what it truly meant to be a follower of Christ.
While Wanda and Nelson never had any children of their own, there is a host of loved ones from multiple generations who thought of them as parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle and have countless fond memories of sleepovers, weekends, and vacations with them.
Wanda was a fashionable lady who always dressed to a "T". She was very organized, loved reading, was an avid collector of bells and teapots and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music, especially the Cathedrals. She was a loyal friend with a willing spirit and will be missed by all who knew her.
